10 Green Ways to Improve Our Cities ... | Delaware Ohio Real Estate

This is a guest post/infographic by Gerri

In recent decades, the sight of urban sprawl and abandoned downtown areas have demonstrated that planning is probably a better way to create a sustainable city than letting a metro area grow without guidance.

But what counts as city improvements? Some people may want better public transportation while others may want a cleaner environment. A third group might long for urban hiking trails.

Green initiatives aren?t just cosmetic improvements or trendy attempts to jump on the green bandwagon. Most green initiatives make cities more livable. Parks and green spaces break up the monotony of buildings and concrete as well as giving residents spaces for exercise and recreation. And cities copy one another; when other cities see what works well in one place, they?ll want to adopt those same improvements for themselves.
